SUSAN F. DAVENPORT, Ph.D.
Licensed Psychologist, NCSP, ACC
As a Licensed Psychologist, I have been in private practice since 1994 and provide both psychotherapy and psychological evaluations to a broad range of clients. Psychological evaluations generally include the addressing of specific referral reasons, such as ruling out learning or behavior problems, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and depression, as well as evaluating the client’s current level of functioning. When working with clients, a cognitive/behavioral therapeutic approach is generally utilized in dealing with a client’s issues. This approach has been proven to be most effective in dealing with many psychological problems and concerns, including depression, anxiety, behavioral problems, and a range of social and psychological disorders.
As a certified Life Coach through the International Coach Federation, I am drawn to coaching because of the positive, powerful benefits provided to clients. I have always been driven by positive psychology. The power of believing in yourself is untold, and so often we lose that belief, or it becomes diminished through the course of everyday life. Coaching provides the arena for the client to experience the power and growth of their own skills and resources. I received coaching credentials through the ICF as an Associate Certified Coach in April of 2009, and received certification as a Health and Wellness Coach through the College of Executive Coaching in 2022. I enjoy working as a life coach.
When I am not at work, I love to travel and explore the world. My two sons and I have traveled around the world and have had amazing once in a lifetime experiences. I have been to many countries across Europe, as well as Greece, Egypt, Peru, the Galápagos Islands, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Iceland, Ecuador, Cancun, the islands of the Caribbean, Australia, Fiji, Hawaii, Alaska, Canada, and 38 of our 50 United States. I have traveled by cruise ships, trains, planes, hot air balloons, and tiny planes, and have done four transatlantic cruise crossings. I love taking pictures and use my photos to decorate my home and office. I love cars and gardening, and have created an English garden in my backyard. I have been a scuba diver for 25 years, and have been skydiving, which was the most exhilarating feeling ever! I love music, both listening to it and creating it. I played the flute in high school, still play the piano, and have learned to play the guitar since my youngest son went to college. I love to dance and have collections of dolphins, different types of glass, and Wedgwood. I understand and have survived trauma. I married a wonderful man in 2023 after being widowed for fourteen years. I am the mother of two sons and two stepsons, and we have all known each other for fifteen years. I am a breast cancer survivor. We love to cruise and ballroom dance, and I have beautiful ball gowns. I moved from Georgia to Texas after getting married and am starting my new life in Dallas!

Dedicated to Clarity, Understanding & Advocacy:
For over 30 years, I have provided psychological evaluations, and guided families, parents, and partners through the complexities of Autism, ADHD, and other diagnoses.
My passion lies in uncovering behavioral patterns, identifying root causes, and helping others gain clarity in their understanding of neurodivergent challenges. Through a blend of scientific analysis, deep empathy, and patient advocacy, I guide individuals and families through their journeys—helping them move from uncertainty to empowerment.
My Approach:
-
Education & Awareness – Helping families and individuals understand the manifestations and implications of diagnoses.
-
Empowerment & Independence – Fostering growth, self-acceptance, and autonomy in each client.
-
Advocacy & Support – Fighting for the rights, needs, and well-being of those navigating neurodivergent challenges.
-
Compassion & Respect – Valuing each person’s experiences and ensuring they feel heard and supported.
I believe no one should have to feel lost in their diagnosis. Whether you're a parent trying to understand your child, an adult navigating your own neurodivergence, or a partner seeking clarity in your relationship, I am here to help.
Let’s work together to build understanding, insight, and a path forward.
