Where Do Your Dreams Take You?

Every one of us carries a map inside—drawn not on paper, but in imagination. It’s a map of dreams, of desires we’ve held onto since childhood or discovered along the way. Some are bold and adventurous. Others are quiet and deeply personal. But all of them ask the same question:
“When will you go?”
Dr. Susan F. Davenport challenges us to not only dream, but to move. To take the first step toward living with intention, joy, and fulfillment.
Because what good are dreams if they never take us anywhere?
The Quiet Delay
We often tell ourselves:
“Someday.”
“When the timing is better.”
“When I feel ready.”
And in those quiet delays, life moves on.
But the truth is, there will never be a perfect time. Life doesn’t wait for the stars to align. The opportunity to begin—to live fully—often hides in the imperfect, the uncertain, the now.
Defining ‘Very Full’
Living life to the very fullest doesn’t have to mean skydiving or starting a business (though it might!).
It can mean:
Finally taking the class you’ve put off.
Opening your heart to love again.
Speaking up for yourself.
Traveling somewhere you’ve always dreamed of.
Giving yourself permission to rest.
It’s less about what you do and more about doing it with presence, courage, and joy.
Steps Toward Your Dream Destination
Here’s how to begin walking toward your dreams—whatever they may be:
Get Honest: Ask yourself—what have I always wanted to do, be, or experience?
Visualize It: Picture yourself there. How does it feel? What do you see? What changes?
Make One Move: Big dreams are built on small, consistent actions. What’s one thing you can do this week that gets you closer?
Create Accountability: Share your dream with someone you trust or write it down somewhere you’ll see often.
Refuse Regret: When fear creeps in, remember this: Regret is heavier than failure. Try. Explore. Live.
Experience Life on Purpose
Your dreams aren’t accidental. They are clues to who you are and what matters most. And while the road may be winding, the destination is worth it—not just for the outcome, but for the experience of truly living along the way.
So, again:
Where do your dreams take you?
When will you go there and experience life to the very fullest?
What if the answer is… now?
